ljgeoffYesterday was an odd day. Friday night, Luke had been hard to get to sleep, so I got to bed late, and then yesterday morning, Carl woke me up at 7:30 am to drive him to Saturday detention (for being generally unorganized, and not getting assignments done.) When I got home, I tried to go back to sleep, but it wasn't happening. So, there being about four inches of fresh snow, I got boots and all on and went out and shoveled the walk and place where we winter park the cars.
When I got in, I needed a shower. As I was getting undressed, Luke woke up. He sat whining in the bathroom while I showered, and then I took him downstairs. Mike was awake, but dozing in bed, and I wanted to join him there. Saturday was going to be our day; out to dinner, maybe a movie, and then a hotel room. I was so looking forward to it. I was hoping that I could get Luke some breakfast, and interested in tv, and then I'd go upstairs and snuggle with Mike.
While I was dealing with Luke, Laura came over. She said she only had about 45 min or so, and then she had to get off to work. I nodded and waved and she went up to see Mike.
I really didn't expect them to have sex. Mike doesn't usually want sex more than once a day, and Laura had just been with him the night before, and Mike knew that tonight was our special night, so when I went up and found that they'd had sex, I was surprised and hurt. Seems that he'd forgotten all about our special night. That really hurt.
After Laura left (with apologies, she didn't know about my plans), I stripped the bed and went down the back stairs to the basement. But I had to sit there for a moment because I found myself weeping. I don't cry often, but I just felt so miserable - that Mike had forgot, and that he was irritated with me now because I was angry and hurt (he didn't see why I felt this way; it was out of the blue, to him), that the night I'd been looking so forward to was ruined.
I threw the sheets in the wash, and started on the bathroom (we're gutting it). Mike came down and we talked about some of the stuff we'd need for the bathroom. My head was aching, around my left eye and cheekbone, so I took some sinus meds. Then Geriann called and asked if I'd pick up her meds for her (she's on Chemo.) So Mike and I went into town and got Gerianns meds, then we went and spent lots of money at Menards. When we got home, we got the supplies in, and I took a couple more sinus pills and went to lay down for a bit.
We'd forgot a few things at Menards, so before heading out to Gerianns to drop off the meds, we went back. We had Sam and Luke with us, too. I took another two sinus pills before we left.
Geriann's cat had kittens. They are black and white, and some have manx-tails. They're about five weeks old, now. I picked out a black and white manx female for Len, for Valentines' day. By now, I new I had a migrane, and not a sinus headache. I thought that, after Geriann's I'd go over to Len's and beg an Imitrex. I mentioned it to Geriann, and she said that her daughter Colleen had Imitrex, and bless her, she gave me some. The pain receeded as we drove home.
On the drive back from Geriann's, I remembered that my mom had asked me to go over and take care of her dogs. We dropped the kids off at home, went to my mom's to take care of the dogs, and then decided to go out to Chinese for dinner.
We ended up getting a rental movie and going home. My headache was completely gone, and I felt better - content, I'd say. I was tired though, exhausted, really. So when we got home, I made the bed and layed down. Mike kissed me and I asked if he'd mind if I just went to bed, and of course it was alright.
So, no romantic night, but when he came to bed I snuggled up against him, and fell asleep with my nose in his hair and my arm around his waist.
