- Mike is coming to visit next week! We'll have 4 days to wander around North Carolina :)

- I'm still really enjoying this contract! Everyone here is so nice!

- White Cedar Mead is not yet on shelves, but soon! Our tasters are very enthusiastic but there's the niggly concern that this is too close to my-followers-support-me-in-email

- Mike has a real interest in a property I've shown him

- It's very cool when the plot of a story clicks into place

Last night I got off at 7:30pm from the hospital in Michigan City, Indiana and drove as far as Battle Creek, Michigan. Then I slept in the van-home, waking up at 0400 to drive to Grand Blanc. I had dropped off my friend Monday's mom at the hospital there, and I'd forgotten about her bag in the back of the van. Today she's being discharged to a nursing home for physical rehab, and she needs her clothes.

Then I drove to Lansing, to the library. I needed to get some forms scanned in for my son Jake. He's getting an apartment in Tampa and needs a co-renter because his pay is a little short of what they want.

Then I scanned in some forms in for the loan guy because the Negaunee house needs a new roof.

And an email to the inspection guy to clarify if we're going to need another inspection. And there's still a lot of things that need to be done:
- approval of label
-form LCC-301 (Report of Stockholders/Members/Partners)
-form LCC-107 (Closing Form for New License or License Sale)
-get/apply? for registration number of approval from the Liquor Commission
-file a schedule of the net cash prices to retailer licensees
-form LCC-351 (Delivery Vehicle Decal Application)

*breathes* ok. I can do this. (because, damn! We did it!)

A couple of days ago I posted that Sam, Luke, and I had got the distressing news that the State of Michigan licensing would take another 3-6 months.

Nope!

Our Michigan paperwork was approved yesterday! All that is remaining is the physical inspection of the premises.

We're going to give them a call today to see how far out they are scheduling those inspections. We're almost there. :)

I've been working two full time jobs since February 20th. This is my seventh week of six 12-hr shifts per week. I have six more weeks to go. In that time, I've got a new business off the ground (we are awaiting our State of Michigan permit for a small winery) and paid off, I dunno, $2K of debt. I have so much more debt to go, but by the end of this six weeks, should I survive - and I'll survive because I am willful - I'll have paid off a significant chunk of debt.

I also wrote a new Nanaboozhoo story. I'm not going to post it right now, but if you want to read it, I'll send it to you. It deals with the difficult themes of murdered and lost indigenous women, and there's some violence and death of all kinds.

I signed my new contract today: I'll be at Franciscan Health, Michigan City, Indiana, from June 12 through September 9th. It's about 2 1/2 hours from Lansing, so hopefully I'll get my shifts in one chunk and go home in between.

I have lots of thoughts but no energy to write them down. My laundry is in the dryer and when it's done I'm going to drive to Manistique (takes about 90 minutes) and sleep there tonight. So I'm going to take a nap.
