ljgeoffOn last Monday, the 13th of August, I ran around like a crazy woman doing last minute errands and then, at around 1:30 pm, left for Lansing to come stay with Mike for a few days. My daughter-in-law Mel has been keeping an eye on my kids.
Mike lives with his partners Dawn and Jerry. They are wonderful, have a wonderful, comfortable home, and I have slept and ate and had sex for three days now. Last night I fell asleep around midnight and woke up at 9am or so, finally got out of the bedroom around 11am, lolled around, ate homemade apple pie for breakfast, met some lovely friends of Dawn and Jerry's, and went out for a few errands at 1:30. One of our stops was at the LCC campus, where we scanned some tax documents for my son's FAFSA review and emailed them off to his financial aid office. We were in a little bitty computer lab room, and there was only one chair, so I stretched out on the floor and promptly fell asleep.
I don't know when was the last time I got so much sleep. On Tuesday night I saw Stardust and last night Dawn and Jerry took us out to eat. It has been wonderfully indolent and hedonistic. Hmmmm. Sleep, sex, food, more sleeping....
Tomorrow, I am scheduled to be at work at 3pm, so I will leave here around 7am and head back north. Last night I dreamt of the boys, and I really do feel that it is time to go back. I have had such a wonderful stay. I feel wonderful. Hmmm, I think I will go have a little more of that curry, and we're having a late supper of grilled portobellas and corn on the cob....
