Oct. 24th, 2004 01:57 pmLast night, Mike and I went out to dinner with Lucas, Ruby and Len to meet Lucas' parents, Danielle and Doug. Nice folks. They're going to co-sign Lucas and Ruby's loan for the leather outlet. Things are pulling together.
On Friday, Ruby and I went to the Ishpeming City Hall, because I wanted to get a copy of the paper that they keep with all the property information - I'm sure that this paper has a name, but I can't remember what it is. So, we talked to the zoning fellow, who informed us that, if we wanted to use the building to as our primary residence, we would have to petition for a usage varience, since it was zoned commercial and had not been lived in, lo these many years. He was actually quite pissy about it "I don't know *why* people think that they can buy a property and just do anything with it!" So, we were told that we'd have to do a write up on what we want to do with the building, and submit that to the zoning office (along with a $125 filing fee), and then the zoning official will call a hearing and it will be decided (I'm a little hazy on who will do the deciding) whether or not we can do what we want to do, which is live on the second floor of the building, and run a coffee shop and a leather shop on the first floor of the building.
So today Ruby and I were going to get together and do the write up, and we where also all going to fill out our applications for the bank loan. We also have to get together with the owner and get the purchase agreement signed, to submit with the bank applications.
Tonight a game of D & D with the boys, first level. I'm DM!
