ljgeoffA distinguished looking gentleman with thick white hair and elegant hands drove up to my window just now. He took a look at me and said, "Where did the pretty girls go?"
The Cruise-N-Coffee's are well known in the area for hiring fresh, perky barbie-doll girls, who are told to dress a certain way and wear makeup a certain way. It's kindof a local joke.
I blinked at him. "They're at the Cruise-N-Coffee. What would you like today?"
"So, there's no pretty girls here?"
"Nope. Just me! Would you like some coffee?"
"Yeah, I'll have a tall drip with cream. So, where's the nearest Cruise-N-Coffee?"
"Here you are. That'll be $1.35 -- In Marquette."
"Huh," he muttered, "that's a long way to drive for coffee."
