good morning (as in, it was good)
Sep. 24th, 2008 12:09 pmI had a wonderful one-on-one with Jim McDonald. Wonderful. PNH wandered in toward the end and said something like, "When I read Lewis Door, I said 'here's a very smart author making the mistakes that very smart first time authors make;' listen to Jim. He's good."
I was just in one of the lectures, which focused on the care and feeding of the inner Beast. I wanted to say, "But, what if you've not got the kind of shy, coy-muse Beast? What if you've got the kind of take-you-arm-off Beast; not the 'whisper in your ear' but the 'roam freely through your brain, knocking shit over and and leaving claw marks on the walls' kind of Beast?
They are doing writing exercises downstairs, and I just ran out of the ability to keep my eyes open. I am taking a nap.
It was a wonderful lecture, where I suddenly got how the two parts of my short fit together.
