I have been thinking that I'd like to give folks who sent me to Viable Paradise a return on their investment. I have decided that I will write a story for each person who contributed to the Send Lisa to VP Fund.

I have sent off my first story. It won first place in the VP peer review and is dedicated to [livejournal.com profile] elisem. It's been submitted to a publisher, but [livejournal.com profile] elisem got it first.

So, you contributors! What kind of stories do you want? Give me a sub-genre, a setting or a character-type.

I will pay out in stories.

What a lovely idea! If you're up for it, here's my suggestion: something haunting in a steampunk/fantasy environment. Steam powered Faerie, maybe? With a theme that relates somehow to the idea of loss, and how when those we love depart there's pain but they're never truly gone so long as they live on in memories and hearts of those who loved them. How's that sound?

I'm giving myself a deadline of Tuesday night, 9pm EST. Deadlines seem to be a good idea for me. Here is how it starts:

"Cottington dropped the faery’s body into the bunker and turned the stoking mechanism that fed the firebox. A decently dried faery corpse would give a good six good hours of steady heat."

Wow, what a charmingly literal interpretation of the phrase "steam powered faerie"! I certainly didn't expect that! I'm very much looking forward to seeing where you go with this one. :-)))))

How young? Teenager or 20-something?

20-something. And since I'm a minor contributor, a drabble or very little story would be fine!

I am multi-pet-ual. (However, the OH does not like dogs, so I have to get my dog fix at the humane society.)

I haven't been reading lj posts for a while! I can't believe everything I've missed!

okay, I've been saying 'oh how I wish I could get Lisa to write a story for me' (both Toby and I have been saying that) and 'lo!

and now I can't remember a damn thing!
