progress report
Nov. 6th, 2008 06:49 amwriting:
I sent in Goober to Lone Star last night. Gotta love that 48 hour turn around. No word yet. I just read it to Carl (Um. Interesting, Mom.) and noticed some rough spots -- easy fixes of word repeats and such.
I'm in a stuck spot on the the current short. I have a feel for the character and it all has a feel, but there's not much plot. Bleh. Everything that I plot out is so obvious. Bleh again.
I just got a lovely comment from a reader at Teaspoon about
ever_was. The next story for that arc is brewing.
I haven't worked on my Selene project. I just need to sit and do it - I can feel it in my head.
School:
I'm getting a C in chemistry. Again. I need to get my act together and see if I can pull a B out of my ass. I'm also getting a C in Growth and Development -- I can't do a bunch of assignments because I couldn't (can't) buy the book. And I can't borrow a book because the assignments are online, and you can only access the assignments by the registration number you get when you buy the book. I probably *could* buy the book if I wanted to, say, sacrifice some of the food budget (we could get a basket from the Salvation Army) but the whole situation makes me so pissed that I refuse. I know. I'm stupid that way. Mike says that one day my forehead will just cave in from all of the bashing against brick walls that I do. I dunno. I'd bet on my head. *Way* harder.
Homefront:
Jake came home (well, to my home) for a couple of days. He looks good, and from what he says, things are going okay for him. His brothers were glad to see him, and he's hoping to see his new nephew this afternoon.
Crystalynn has been doing ok, not great, but ok. She hasn't gone back to school yet, but Set is just 2 wks old today. I think she starts back on Monday. I've got a meeting with the HS counselor tomorrow, to help problem solve about Carl's absences.
Sam and Luke are chugging along, no problems. Luke is reading better than I thought! He read to me last night, and is sight reading quite a few words. It looks like the dyslexia won't be as much a problem for him.
Shop:
I just don't know yet. Sales are up from October, but not where it needs to be for me to stay open. It's close, though.
