I'm off to Chicago to pick up Mike from the airport. He's done with his training, and he has a 10 day leave. I'm excited to see him, of course, but it's complicated. I've kinda said goodbye, and now he's coming back for a little bit, and then I have to say goodbye again, and not see him for about 9 months. After 9 months he'll have another leave, and we'll see him again and say goodbye again, and he'll go away for another 9 months.
Carl and Luke are both sick with sore throats and coughs. My Mom, who is just turning 69 next Monday, is going to be taking the boys for supper tonight, and Easter Egg coloring, and then tomorrow, for an egg hunt at her house, and Easter baskets, and dinner. She will be upset that the kids are sick; her asthsma makes getting colds more than uncomfortable.
It's supposed to be sunny and in the low 40's today. Melt, snow, melt! I have about 2 1/2 feet in my yard. Mike wants to spend most of his leave working on cars. He wants to take the transmission out of the black Festiva and put it in the Red Festiva, and then put a transmission in the Caravan, too. He'll probably want to take the engine out of the other Caravan before we haul it off. I have today, tomorrow and Monday off, work 7a-3p Tue-Thur, and have Fri-Mon of next week off. We were planning on spending next weekend in Chicago, the whole family, to see Mike off, but I don't think that we can afford it. Rats.
