Jake has received his high school diploma. W00t! I know, a gazillion kids just got their high school diploma, but not so many who are living on their own. This kid has potential. He's gonna come home at the end of the month, and we'll have a party for him. And get his paperwork all set for Normandale.

I called Mike last night, and things are going well. He got the forms he needed from the National Guard post at Grayling, and got in to see the financial aid officer at LCC.

'Night before last, I woke up around 2am and went over to Len's; we had a great talk. He sounded so (forgive me, sweetie) completely normal that it made me doubt that he's clinically depressed. He's been dealing with a betrayal by a dear friend. Something like that would knock me for a loop for a couple or three weeks, too. He is still deciding whether to sign up for the boats -- I'd say that he 70% wants to do it. But it's backbreakingly hard work with almost no contact with the outside world. The money is gooood.

I've got all of my classes for this fall: Chemistry I (I took it in 1980, and got a D)(bleh), Anatomy, Human Nutrition for Health Professionals, Weight Lifting and Tai Chi.
