Mike's partner was temporarily diagnosed with colon cancer. Yesterday, after a barrage of tests, they found out that he doesn't have colon cancer. What was thought to be a huge mass was some error in the MRI. Or something. I'm still a little hazy.

They do not, however, know what is wrong with his gut. But I'd say that not having cancer is pretty good news.

It's weird, but I'm still a little freaked. Which makes me wonder how he feels.

Len is leaving in a few hours to hop aboard the his ore boat.

So, now all of my relationships are LDR's. I have to say that I'm wondering about my mood for the next six months. I see Mike about once a month, anansi133 maybe four times a year and there's a good chance I won't see Len till sometime in January.

Mike suggests that I go find some nice collage boy geek(1) and rearrange his world. Tempting.

(1) "Hmm," wondered I to Mike, "where should I look? Star Trek fan club? Physics club? D & D group? I wonder how much overlap there is?"

The message that was on my phone when I got out of the shower tonight:

"Hey sweetie, it's me. I'm just calling to let you know that we're just leaving Green Bay right now. I put in my first eight hours -- eh, if all the docks are gonna be like this, it's gonna be pretty cushy. I mean, it's hard, but it could be worse. The deck gang has a new arraingement. Instead of a couple of deck hands and the bosun, there's *five* deck crew members. So, there's a lot more standing around and a lot less working your ass completely off. It's kinda refreshing, heh - kinda weird and surreal. Well, I'm gonna be losing signal soon, I mean, after all, I'm sailing off into the fucking lake. So, I'll let you go, I'll talk to you later and I Love You. Bye!"
