1) We got a new cat. He is orange tabby, a beautiful bulls-eye pattern, and with extra toes and orange eyes, too. The boys have named him Steve.

2) Still no word from TNH

3) I have picked my classes for next semester: Microbiology, Issues in Medical Ethics, Research Methods/Psych, Cultural Food Patterns, and Welding. My adviser says that I will most likely make the BSN Fast Track program in February, so I'm projecting that I'll graduate in Dec 2009 with a BS in Psych, a BSN and a Certificate in Welding. I might pick up some other certificates, too, 'cause it's cool to know stuff.

4) My fitness routine has brought my blood pressure down from about 140/80 to about 125/75.

5) Also on the health front, I noticed that my stomach got upset when I ate a lot of bread. I've drastically cut back on bread consumption and my GERD has almost disappeared.

6) My partner Len has a new partner. She and I have talked and I think she's pretty cool. I'm doing very well at not freaking out.

7) I've been obsessing over my plans to immigrate to Canada. I think that the obsession is just a way to relieve stress and I guess it's not such a bad thing. But I just spent 90 min trying to find out the frost level in Fort Simpson (5 ft, I think. Um, damn, that's about 1.5 meters, I mean. They're right on the permafrost border).

8) This is the first Halloween I've missed with the kids. They are fine and are having a great time, but I miss watching the fun.

9) I don't think that I mentioned that Fred, a neighbor and long-time friend of my sons went from sleeping on the couch to getting his very own mattress-on-the-floor in the spare room. Fred is a developmentally disabled - he reads at a 3rd grade level and does simple addition and subtraction. He's eighteen, but has the maturity of a 12-yr old. He's a great kid, though. When he turned 18, his parents gave him a couple of months to find a job and when he didn't, kicked him out. They never followed up on his SSI, so he got dropped off that and his Medicare. I've got an appointment with him tomorrow morning at the Vocational Ed school in Marquette. He's been helping me out at the house, doing dishes, vacuuming and getting Luke a snack after school. He makes a mean Hamburger Helper Lasagna, and "versus" Luke in Mario Bros.

10) I've been migraine-free for five days!
