Nov. 29th, 2008 07:50 amMike and I watched Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull last night, and after, started talking about what it would be like to have cgi indistinguishable from live action. I don't think that we're too far away.
I started thinking about image piracy and youtube. I like watching fan vids on youtube. And if fans had access to that level of cgi, well, I know what they'd do with it. And would that be like fanfic, or something more? At what point does the actor have control of their image? It seems to hinge around commercial sale, so if it's not sold, it doesn't count?
I think that this would make a good story, just don't know where I'd go with it - but I feel that there's obsession and violence involved. Hm.
