Everyone says that downtime is good, but it just makes me feel like a slug. I got up this morning at 6:30am, got Luke to school, went into Marquette and sold some of my body, and then just went home and vegged. I haven't done anything more than read fanfic and watch Life on Mars clips from youtube all afternoon. Sluggity-slug-slug. Watch me ooze.

It's been snowing, lightly but steadily. We've got about five inches of very fluffy snow since last night, and another five to ten will come down by tomorrow. Very Christmassy.

Last night, my daughter-in-law, who is in her first trimester, started spotting. She went to the emergency room, and they said that her show was within normal parameters. It made me remember my miscarriages, all first trimester. I didn't think I could say anything comforting, so I didn't. I wonder if I'm becoming colder as I age, less needful of having to nurture.

Oi, there's stuff I need to do. Now, to ooze myself into my coat and out into my freezing car...

Re: down time- I find it's the contrasts that feel good. A day off after lots of hard work feels great. A day off that follows several thousand other days off, not so much.

Re: getting colder with age- Sometimes there is nothing to say, but it generally takes some maturity to recognize those moments.

Do you guys use dipstick heaters out there? I've never thought I needed one until now.
