post 2- new job

I start my new job tomorrow, and I start my new semester on Tuesday.

The job is as a substance abuse support counselor. I'll work around 20-25 hours a week, mostly nights, and while I'm there, I'll be getting my Certified Associate Addiction Professional - 1 (CAAP-1).

I'll also be getting my LPN.

I'm really excited right now by the substance abuse job, but I know myself, and I know that I will need another avenue available.

There is a place that I'm looking at, up in Alaska: Old Minto Recovery Camp.

I can really see myself here.

Wow, I'm getting my Caap right now as well, crazy world. Are you working for great lake recovery? (think that was the name). I'm a substance abuse counselor for Washtenaw county now.... small world. It's a great, and fullfiling field.

Yep. I'll be doing an independent study (I hope) with Lenny Shible this summer, and get my degree and my CAAP around the same time. I'm really liking it! I've been here at Great Lakes Recovery for two weeks now.
