President Obama

I've been grinning on and off for the last day. And last night, driving in the dark and the snow on my way home from work, it occured to me that I've felt this way before. During the beginning of my pregnancies, when I first knew that I was pregnant, it would hit me every once in a while... I'm pregnant! And I would smile that very happy, secret smile. I'd remember I'm pregnant!, and be awash with joy and excitement.

And last night, thinking President Obama!, it was the same feeling. I'm sure that some folks will think that this is absolutely nuts, but there ya go.

Oh, no, I totally get that, and I haven't even been pregnant. I get that expectant joy, though, that dare-I-say-it HOPE.

I feel about like I felt when I got married and my dad wasn't my legal next of kin - or my kids' - anymore.

I have to post a thank-you card today. He'll never see it, but it might get counted...

I know what you mean. He could get a fine review just by not sucking as hard as Reagan/Bush/Cheney. but I have to belive he's more ambitious than that.
