Fred's mom finally got him on SSI. I wonder if she's going to be able to talk Fred's Dad into letting him move back in, since now there's money involved. He came to me last week and said that he'd got his food stamp card and that his Mom was going to take him shopping on Tuesday. "She said that I should only buy food that I'm gonna eat, but I was thinking that, you know, you've been feeding me all this time, I should get food for everybody." He's a good kid.
I've got the paperwork for getting Justin some State aide and medical assessments. Neither his Mom or Dad will sign anything, but I'm strong-arming his Mom (with the help of her sister) to sign a limited guardianship that will allow me to seek medical care, if needed. Then I can sign the forms myself.
I'm feeling pretty damned used by these "parents." Part of me is shrieking "what are they *thinking*?" But you know what? I don't want to know what they're thinking. I really don't.
