So, well, Mom doesn't have any handy antibiotics. She said that it sounded to her that I either had bronchitis or pneumonia, of the bacterial variety. I've had this before, and I know that my immune system will shake it. Mom agrees; "Depends how long you want to feel like shit," she said. Last time I had this was back in my Eagle's Cliff days (1995-ish)(holy shit, that was ten years ago) and it took about 6 weeks to buck, but I was giving plasma twice a week and that would have raised the incline a bit.

I already felt better this morning than last. I feel like I have a light fever now, but yesterday I was exhausted, and today I'm just dragging a little. I'm picturing myself tying little favors on the arms of my white blood cells -- Go forth, valiant heroes!

In a cost/benefit analysis, it'll cost about $100 - $150 for the doctor's visit and the antibiotics. That comes to 6%-8% of my monthly income. On the other side of the column, I function pretty damn well when I'm sick, and I have a high emotional tolerance for it -- kind of a "this sick thinks it's tougher than me? Ha!" I enjoy overcoming adversity so much that I tend to seek it out. Is this a good thing? Dunno. Seems to have propelled me down the road, so far.

This type of pneumonia/bronchitis isn't very communicable -- no kissing, wash hands a lot, and cover my cough.
