Jan. 20th, 2005 02:12 amMike got his orders today, making everything certain. I try to believe it, to feel it, to imagine the spring, and then the summer, the fall, and winter again, and him gone. I wasn't feeling well this afternoon, some kind of stomach bug, so I went to lay down late - around 5p, and I fell asleep. I got up around 9:30 and heated some supper - I felt better, hungry.
"You won't sleep tonight," he sighed, "And you'll be all muzzy in the morning."
"I'm still tired," I said. "I think I can go back to sleep."
I read the last chapter of Mary Stewart's _The Crystal Cave_ to the boys and tucked them in. Mike and I cuddled for a while, but at 12am I was still wide awake, keeping him awake with talk. "You were right," I said, and he *hmphed* and chuckled low. "I love that you know me so well," I said.
"And love you anyways?" he finished. I kissed his sleepy lips and came downstairs to write.
