So far, a productive morning. Finished the Selene and Endymion sonnat (well, if [livejournal.com profile] audreylucero likes it) and I'll go over CTS one last time, mostly looking for typos and such, then off it goes for crit.

I'm still musing over that Doctor Who fanfic I read last night, still a bit in thrall. *sigh*

I think I might go fix Matilda next. I really like that one, though I don't know if it's very marketable. It's kinda cute. I'm just not very good at dark. I think that I need to not think of it as dark, but complex. Hm. I need to think about that some more.

It would be cool if you could corner Geoff Ryman at Wiscon and talk to him about Matilda. He had a terrific dog character in his novel "Air."

(We could tag-team him - you lure him into a closet and I could stick a chair under the doorknob, something like that ;-) )

In "Air" the dog was frustrated at its enhanced abilities. It really just wanted to be a dog. Maybe Matilda needs more angst?
