Golem - a gazillion, Lisa - zero
Apr. 29th, 2012 03:30 pmI went out to finish digging out the golem. The last week has been rainy on and off but today was sunny and mild. So, yeah, the hole was half filled with water, I expected that.
What I did not expect was that a bunch of spring peeper frogs would decide to come live there. Oh, no fair, golem.
*sigh*
They're cute little fellas. So I'm hoping to start building my raised garden boxes this evening, next to the hole. There's plenty of scrap wood laying around to get started. Then I'll mix some of the golem with the sloppy mess of half decomposed leaves and manure and the starting mix I bought. Viola!
I think I'll just lay some scrap wood over the "pond" so that it doesn't get too hot and dry out too fast. I don't know how long they can live there -- it's only about a meter long and maybe half a meter wiide. The clay bottom should keep it wet for a while. I dunno about adding to the water. Hmm. Gotta think about that.
Peepers!
