stereotactic breast biopsy

This was a slightly uncomfortable procedure; I'd put it (for me) as about as difficult as having a small dental cavity filled. There was a table with a strategic hole in it that I lay down on -- face down with my titty hanging out of the hole. After getting me in the right position, a mammogram-like machine pressed my tit and they took some pics. Next came a couple easy shots of lidocaine to numb the area, more pics and finally the biopsy. The most uncomfortable aspect was that the edges around the strategically placed titty-hole were hard and pressed into my ribs.
After the procedure, I was left alone to dress. There on the wall were the mammograms and when the nurse came back in, I asked her to point out my calcifications. She pointed to an area and then got out a hand magnifying glass. They were very small, in a tight cluster -- a Pleiades, buried in my breast.
I felt the hairs go up on the back of my neck because Microcalcifications that appear very closely clustered or are located segmentally are likely to be cancerous.
But before the biopsy, I had an ultrasound of the suspect lymph node. It looks somewhat oval with a lighter circle in the middle of it -- pretty much like this:

I dunno. I'm not a doctor. Nor even a nurse. Today I planted the autumn broccoli and some perennials (Lenten Rose and Delphinium) out front. Tonight I'll talk to Mike a bit. Tomorrow I go back to work, and I work through through 'till Monday. Tuesday I'll visit the doctor and see my results.
