For the first time, the earth's temperature has been estimated to be one degree over our historic late Holocene level. What are we doing about it? We're funding fossil fuel industries at four times the rate of renewables.
Interestingly, a new report shows that 70% of USians believe that the climate is changing, though only about 50% believe that the warming we're seeing is man-made. Personally I think that modern agriculture will fail and society will collapse by the end of this century under the weight of social unrest and weather calamities, but hey, I'm not a scientist, and the earth continues to surprise by its negative feedback systems.
Everybody has a voice. Use it. If you don't feel inspired to write your legislature, at least take a minute to share this around, hey?
