Yesterday was Lucas' 24th birthday. I cleaned house all day. The boys helped a lot. It was awful. Then I cooked. That part was fun; a geletin-type cheesecake with strawberries and a delicious vanilla wafer and almond crust, calico beans, garlic bread, a watermelon fruit-basket, corn-on-the-cob, and steak, shrimp and spare ribs on the grill. Carl didn't want any cheesecake, so he made a pan of brownies, and I got some vanilla ice cream and hot fudge. Guests included Lucas and Ruby, Len and Laura, Cory, and my four boys - Jake even made an appearance. We all ate ourselves silly. Then we went to see "Batman Begins". Luke was pretty good during the movie. We went to the late show, and he fell asleep on my shoulder. Lucas drove my van home, and when I was tucking Luke into bed, he said sleepily, "I want to go home." "Here, you are," I said, and he snuggled into his pillow. He must think that I'm magic.

During the night, I woke with a migrain. Must have been something in the marinade - it was store bought, but I can't remember the brand, and so now I'll have to dig the bottles out of the garbage so that I can note not to ever buy them again. I was nausious most of the night, going in and out of sleep. At noon, it started hurting again, so I took another Imetrex and went and layed down.

I feel better now, but a little fuzzy-headed. Good thing that my job takes no brain, I guess.

Gotta punch in at 3 pm. Off to get in my snazzy uniform (khaki pants and a navy blue "Holiday" shirt)
