Jun. 18th, 2005 02:15 pmI finally got that crit on _Lewis Door_ that I've been waiting for. I had this itching feeling that something was not right, and Sophelia really put her finger on it: lack of tension. The characters go blithely from one scene to the next, pulled unresistingly through the storyline. She also helped me figure out how I'm going to rewrite the beginning. I'm trying to decide if I should now rewrite the beginning, or go ahead and plow on through the end.
A second serious flaw is that my scientist doesn't think like a scientist. That's because _I_ don't think like a scientist, and observing and then classifying and whatever it is that scientists do is just foreign to me. I'll have to have dinner with Mark again (aw!).
