May. 12th, 2006 07:50 pmThe last couple of days, I've been feeling really crappy. Not over-emotional or blue, just a complete lack of energy. As if I had run out of gas and there were no reserves. This was a literal exhaustion - with me falling asleep for two or three hours in the mid-afternoon (fortunately it was my 'weekend') and waking up still tired.
Tonight, I had mashed potatoes and gravy with chicken for supper. About 15 min after eating, I felt normal. I was tired before I ate, and then I ate, and then I wasn't tired. I don't think that this has ever happened to me before. I've struggled with periods of lows and highs, but they are rarely very dramatic --
more like rolling hills than mountain peaks.
As an added datum, I ate normally during the earlier part of the day - a big bowl of cream of wheat for breakfast and a subway roast beef sub with extra spinach for lunch.
The thing is, those potatoes and gravy were leftovers. I had potatoes and gravy, corn, and chicken last night, and there wasn't any effect. So, maybe it wasn't the potatoes, but the reaction was so dramatic that I don't know what else to think.
