Mike, Luke and Sam are putting a new roof on that Big Ol' Negaunee House. They worked on two faces. The first couple days were a rough learning curve, and then they got the hang of it. The roof is complex, with 8? 9? faces and valleys. Over 7 days, with the three of them working a steady 4 hrs/day, they stripped all the old shingles and tar paper off, sheathed the roof in new OSB, and applied an underlayment called Water And Ice that will keep everything dry until they get up there next spring and put on the shingles. With just 20% of the roof done at that level, Mike is thinking the whole thing will take at least another 500 man hours, maybe less as they get better at it. So, about 7 more work weeks. They're going to aim for 3-4 weeks next year, so the whole thing should be done around the end of '27. Cost will be around $6k in supplies.

That's a lot of work. Not the simplest of roofs.
