and a good thing, too. It's been too dry.

Mike got called out on a courier run up to Dollar Bay and will be back around supper-time. This morning, I shopped at the Evil Shopping Empire and purchased a Black-and-Decker three pack of electric tools: a small hand sander, drill and jigsaw. And I got a hanging basket kit that is supposed to grow some strawberry plants (I gave this to Sam, to celebrate his love of strawberries), and some groceries - mostly fruits and greens.

My library is in shambles. Night before last, we took the plaster-board off the north wall. Beneath the plaster board was some old wood siding. I think that this might have been the outside of the original structure. After cleaning it up, the boys and I painted it a very deep green. We've also knocked the plaster off the old chimney that sits in the east corner of this wall. The red brick against the deep green looks beautiful. Next, we'll paint the remaining walls a creamy tan. The computer desk will go against the green wall, and we'll fill the rest of the wall with bookshelves. The upright piano will be opposite the computer desk, on the south wall. I'd like to get a chaise to put on the west wall, along the window. The room has a rather beat-up wood floor that I've thrown a piece of unbound light raspberry colored carpet -- I want to replace that carpet with something in the same raspberry color, something floral, with greens and tans. Something like this. If anyone had any doubts, this is my room.

Mike has picked up the bathroom project where I dropped it. He'll have the plumbing done in the next couple of days. There was a guy tearing a house apart the next block over, and he was getting rid of a big claw foot -- we bought it for $50! It's a little stained, but otherwise in great shape.

Right now, the front door is propped open because one of the cats brought a chippie in the house. Poor chippie. Ah! A cat....Ah! Another cat! Ah! Ah! .... Geo, our adolescent gray who is probably responsible for the capture, is sniffing the corners.
