Long Weekend; Long Post
Feb. 2nd, 2004 08:32 amI have a head cold, and it's running me down some. This last weekend went ... hmm, not horrible, as it had some good parts, but it could have run smoother.
Thursday, Mike headed off for Ann Arbor, for David's doctor's appointment, and then to Cheryl's for the weekend. On Thursday, before he left, he worked all morning on Jake's car, replacing the fuel pump. It didn't go well - it was about 10 deg. F out, and he was working on it in a snow bank, so he was pretty grumpy and ornery with me. Then he left.
Laura and Len came over Thursday night, and we worked on garb (SCA). Laura helped Carl with his homework, and I sewed. Luke, though, did not want to go to bed, and didn't settle down until 11:30pm. Laura stayed the night, bless her, so that I could get to work on time Friday morning. Luke woke up at about 2:30 am and fussed for almost an hour, and then again at 4am. So I got about 3 hours of sleep. I do not do well on no sleep. Friday sucked. Actually, I don't even remember most of Friday. Laura dropped Luke off with me at about 9:30am, and I ran him over to my mom's. After work, I picked up Luke and, since Carl was home, crashed and slept for 3 hours, then made supper, and slept for another 7 hours.
Saturday was inventory day in the ol' meat department, and I clocked 11 1/2 hours. Sunday we were short handed, and I clocked 9 1/2 hours. On Sunday, yesterday, Laura picked me up after work and we went and got Len and then headed to my place. Laura ran Carl and Sam to snowboarding and I made supper. Supper was ok, but could have been better. Too much butter in the rice, and the gravy sucked. But then Len, darling man, and I cuddled and zoned in front of the TV. Laura went and picked the boys up from snowboarding (and if I haven't said how much I appreciate her efforts and love having someone who was there to help, well, I am in her debt), then she came and snuggled with me and Len.
The weekend ended with Mike coming home; much hugging and snuggling was to be had by all, and then I fell into a coma-like sleep. I'm still tired.
