Kitty intellegence and other stuff

ljgeoffI've got everything moved out of the kitchen because of remodeling. More about that below. But, I was filling the animal water bowl and two cats stood and watched me - our teenager, Steve and the old lady, Calico.
Cali isn't too bright. I've known that for years. Today, as I turned with the water bowl, I saw that Steve was gone. Cali waited and followed me to where I've been sitting it for the last couple of days, in the library. But Steve was already there, waiting.
The kitchen measures about 13X15, with the sink, countertop and window on the east wall, the small arch leading into the dining room on the south wall, currently the refrigerator and what used to be the door into the downstairs bathroom, and the pantry door on the west wall, and the stove, countertop and the door leading to the mud room on the north wall.

I'm going to move the stove to the middle of the room, the dishwasher is going under the counter next to the sink and the refrigerator is going to move where the stove is, making a nice working triangle.
I've neither work nor school today. Keith is coming in to do some prep work (move the stove and frige out into the dining room, finish tearing up the built-up sub floor), and with the help of Amy and Len, I'm going to get the linoleum that we'll be putting in.
There is something about walking on the bare wood 100-yr old floorboards... All those feet.
