Sitting here, trying to come up with a to-do list that doesn't start with "castrate the children" ...

No, not really. Okay, Mike and I are going to have coffee with Carl and Crystal and Crystal's mom, Cindy, on Saturday evening.

Talking to myself on the way to work today:

Grumpy-self: Oh, God!
Mad-Hatter-self: Take a chill pill, woman. Get a grip. It's life; not only that, it's a life.
Grumpy-self: *sigh*
Mad-Hatter-self: You can tell people that it's your long-term plan for taking over the world... one Geoffrion at a time.... *maniacal laughter*
Grumpy-self: *snort*

Also, goddamnit, I bombed my pharmacology exam. Although the A-D-A-D pattern is pretty...

What do I do when all is lost? I write another chapter of Whofic, that's what.

It's life; not only that, it's a life.

Yeah. And it doesn't have to be your life this time, does it?

I am greatly inclined to echo their sentiment.
And also, how can one raise a child if they're still *being* raised and *are* a child? I can see the parents having more responsibility being fobbed on them, sadly. You're trying to work on your life, and this sort of thing...it's more resistance.

Good luck. Don't sign up for too much babysitting. I find it hard to be sensible about babies. Yay babies!

I have one granddaughter, Ella, who is just turning a year. This grandchild will be the first one who has some of my personal DNA. I admit that I am curious.

I just went through this recently with the daughter of a close friend of the family. She's 17. I figured she was getting enough of the 'What were you *thinking*?!" from everyone else, so I started off with the practical stuff. Got her a copy of the book "What to Expect While You're Expecting" to start with, which she really appreciated. Then we chatted over logistics and such.

She had a miscarriage, which makes it all rather academic just now. But it really threw everyone for a loop.

Good luck.

Hugs.

I hope the family meeting goes well. Carl is lucky to have such supportive parents.

Bummer about the pharmacology exam. That must be frustrating for your profs to see an obviously intelligent person too exhausted to get good grades.

I owe you some chapter comments.

Cool!

Thanks for the support. The main part of the pharmacology stuff is that I'm very resistant to memorizing stuff that is boring and kinda stupid. I mean, they give you all these drugs to memorize and expect that you will mostly forget them. I hate rote memorization.
