Other Lisa
Jul. 5th, 2008 07:34 amMy cell phone provider has three ... what are those things called? The first three numbers after the area code? Anyway, it has three of them: 360,361, and 362. Mike's is 360 and mine is 362.
Last December, I sent out birthday invitations to all of Luke's first grade class. But when I typed in my cell number for the RSVP, I accidently put in 360 instead of 362.
Funnily enough, there's a woman who has the phone number 360-mylastfour. And, yes, her name is Lisa.
I'm not sure how many phone calls she got that went something like:
Parent: Lisa?
Lisa: Yes?
Parent: This is little Jimmy's mom. I'm just RSVPing. He'd be thrilled to attend!
Lisa: Um.
The thing is, she was a huge sport about it all. She clued on to what had happened pretty quick, called my son's teacher who called me, and fielded all of the parent's calls back to me.
What I didn't know is that she still gets calls for me now and again, from the kids. On the way back from the fireworks last night, Fred let out that he'd called:
Fred: Uh, Lisa?
Lisa: Yes?
Fred: I'm gonna need some money for gas, for the lawnmower.
Lisa: Nope! I don't have a lawnmower.
Fred: You don't?
Lisa: I think you want the other Lisa?
Fred: Oh!
And then the stories from the back of the van started: Kyle calling in sick from school (she said that she hoped he'd be feeling better, soon), Josh asking if I knew where that game went (she asked for a review), Sam asking for food (she told him Taco Bell was gross)....
*snort* I never knew! Now, I'm thinking that I should, I dunno, tell she has free coffee coming?
