a really good day
Aug. 5th, 2008 07:50 pmThough it started out pretty bad: a migraine woke me up at 2am. I lay there for an half an hour, took some Excedrin, lay there some more and woke Mike up for sex. One thing yas gotta give Mike, he's cool to be woken up at 3am for sex.
The sex helped and the Excedrin helped but not enough to fall back to sleep. I got up at 4:30 and took a shower, ran to the bakery for muffins (I was going to make some, but we were out of milk) got us some milk at the gas station, walked the dog, and turned on the shop lights at 6:30am.
The migraine got better, but I was so damned tired that I called in sick to work at the other job. Then I called Carl to come in the shop at 11am and went home and slept 'till 2pm.
Mike and I went into town for some stuff, and then we decended on the house in a cleaning frenzy. We cleaned for three hours. I hung up some of my art that had been sitting against the wall (Audrey, if you're reading this, Femina Vitalis is the one of the first pieces that someone will see, coming in)
I'm still organizing stuff. I can't really say why I have such a feeling of control and relief. Part of it is that Mike and I talked more, and worked together well. He got all frustrated with the chaos, and Luke was getting in the way, so I sent them off to the beach.
The migraine halo is still with me, but the pain is gone. This morning, I had a weird aural thing going on, where everything sounded like I was sitting in a tin can -- echo-y like. Right now, I just have tingly skin over my right cheek bone, down the right side of my nose, the right side of my philtrum and into the teeth.
I don't know why I feel so good right now. But I do.

(And this is the sort of thing I need to remember when I'm doing stupidly difficult stuff.)
