I've just been cleaning out adverbs and bad being verbs so when I saw your post I checked the chapter I've been working on again. Here's the one that I will never, ever cut: "absently"

Hmm. Nope. Must be lost. Goes something like:

My writing teacher hates adverbs
Says adjectives are stronger,
Nouns and verbs stronger still. [...]
But I'm almost.
Almost a mother, almost thirty,
Almost a writer, almost myself,

I don't remember the rest. It was pretty bad. :-)
