The inside of my mouth has been sore for a while. Just kinda red and tender. Yesterday it got a lot worse - the whole inside was red and burning. We just got paid, so I went to the walk-in clinic and plopped down $50 for a doc to look at it. It is thrush. I asked the doc how I might have contracted it, and he said that it could be stress-- I haven't been on any antibiotics, I don't have any other systemic disease that I know of (though I think I've been hypoglycemic). So, another $25 for the medicine, and I am much happier today.

The $75 came out of our grocery money, so no "extras" this month (chips, cookies and such) -- I told the boys and they just shrugged.

I have a dearth of what I'd call good friends. Good friends are people that I can just call and meet for coffee or watch CSI with or go for a late-night tramp around town. Len was about it, and now he's ... I dunno what he is, but mostly he's unavailable. Ruby says she'd like to hang out, but she's Len's sister and housemate, and so much younger, too. I really tried to make a go of the whole friend thing with Keith. He's just not interested and I'm tired of that particular brick wall, too.

Everyone I've met in school is 20 yrs younger than me. Bleh. I feel old and tired. It's weird to be lonely and too tired to do anything about it.

I'm going to get a part-time job next week, maybe cooking or waiting tables, and that will keep me busy. Tomorrow I'm driving to Escanaba to talk to someone in the nursing department, and then tomorrow evening I've got my nutrition final.
