Last night I went back and read the beginning of the novel, trying to get a feel for pace. I thought, bleh, I can do better than this. It needs a lot of tightening. It's been about 18 mos. since I started writing, but there was a seven month pause and a four month pause. I need to sit down and plot the next bit - I can't seem to plot more than two or three chapters in advance of what I'm writing.
