May. 12th, 2006 10:18 pmI got an email about the Wiscon Tiptree Bakesale. Chocolate, it said, Bring lots of chocolate.
So, I was looking around on line and found this unusual brownie recipe. I baked it today, and they are fabulous.
1 (15 oz) can unseasoned black beans
4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1 Tbs. butter
6 egg whites
2 c. sugar
2 Tbs. soya flour
1 Tbs. cornstarch
and, if you like:
2 Tbs. instant espresso powder
and/or 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 350 Degrees F. Spray a 9"X13" baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Place beans in colander and rinse thoroughly under running water; set aside and drain. Place chocolate and butter in small bowl and microwave until chocolate is melted, stirring every 30 seconds or so.
In food processor or blender, combine drained beans and 2 egg whites. Blend until smooth. In large bowl, combine bean puree, sugar, soya flour and cornstarch, sugar, remaining egg whites, and, if desired, espresso powder. Beat with electric mixer or by hand until well combined. Mix in melted chocolate mixture. Pour brownie batter into prepared pan. If desired, sprinkle with walnuts. Bake for 30-35 minutes, when brownies pull away from the sides of the pan. Cool completely in pan before cutting.
Also, I still feel okay, in reference to my last post. Man, I don't know what was going on with me, and that bugs the heck out of me. It's as if I was walking though a thick fog the last two days, and it suddenly dissipated. Very weird.
