My grandson Seth at three weeks.

He's grown 2 inches since birth (9.5% !) and gained 2 lbs. He's a real Yooper -- mostly Finn (25%), with Anishnabe and German, Polish, Irish, Scandinavian, French Canadian, Scots and British....

the When A Door Closes, A Window Opens thing...

A couple of weeks ago, I was talking to my Prof that teaches the Substance Abuse course I'm taking, asking about what it took to get certification for substance abuse counseling. He perked up, and said that he was on the board of Great Lakes Recovery, and that he thought I'd be a nice addition to the staff.

If the Director thought so, and if they had need.

He did, and they do, and I have an interview next week. They're looking for someone to assist the on-staff nurse -- take medical histories, vitals, pass out band-aids and aspirin, that kind of thing. It's an entry level job, but it's in my field and something that I'd love. Woot!
